Applicant is required to appear in person at the consulate when submitting the documentation.
Documents notarized by a Public Notary must be certified with an APOSTILLE from the secretary of state where it was issued.
Documents issued in a language other than Spanish must be translated into Spanish and then notarized and certified with an APOSTILLE from the Secretary of State where it was issued.
Processing time of visa: minimum of 48 hours, sometimes up to two weeks, depending on the case.
Business Visa
It is issued to executive level individuals who wish to visit the country for temporary periods, representing public or private foreign entities of a commercial or industrial nature, with the purpose of initiating or discussing businesses, or opening branches in Colombia. The holder of a Business Visa cannot establish permanent residence in Colombia, and his activities cannot be compensated as salaries or honorariums in Colombia. A Business Visa may be issued for multiple entries. THIS IS NOT A WORKING VISA.
Requirements:
- Valid Passport for a minimum of 6 months.
- Three (3) colored, passport-type photographs (2"x2").
- Visa application form signed and completely filled out with a duplicate.
- Letter from the foreign (U.S.) firm stating the name and position of the applicant, detailed purpose of trip, and company's compromise to assume full financial responsibility for the traveler expenses, including his return to the country of origin or last country of residence. This letter must be translated into Spanish and both versions (English and Spanish) must be notarized and certified with an APOSTILLE from the secretary of state where it was issued.
- Proof of legal existence of the U.S. Company. This is an original "CERTIFICATE OF CORPORATE EXISTENCE", issued by the "SECRETARY OF STATE", from the state in which the company was incorporated. This certificate must be updated (issued within the last six months) and certified with an APOSTILLE from the secretary of state where it was issued.

Working Visa (TT)
Requirements:
- Valid Passport with at least 3 available pages and valid for a minimum of 6 months.
- Two (2) passport copies. plain copies please.
- Visa application form signed and filled out with a duplicate.
- Three (3) colored passport-type pictures (2"x2").
- Original work contract with both notarized signatures.
- Certificate of Goodwill of the company, notarized and Apostilled.
- Legalized and Apostilled copy of the university diploma.
- Letter from the Colombian company stating the name and position of the applicant, detailed purpose of trip, and company's compromise to assume full financial responsibility for the traveler expenses, including his return to the country of origin or last country of residence. This letter must notarized and apostilled.
- Certificate "Certificado de Proporcionalidad" issued by the Colombian "Ministerio del Trabajo", stating that the ratio of national and foreign workers has been duly respected.
- Health Certificate showing that applicant has been vaccinated against yellow fever. This certificate is required ONLY if the applicant is traveling to any of the following States (Departamentos) in Colombia: Amazonas, Antioquia, Arauca, Bolívar, Boyacá, Casanare, Caqueta, Cauca, Guaviare, Magdalena, Meta, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Santander, Vaupés or Vichada.

Especial Temporary Visa For Adoption Proceedings (TS)
- Valid passport in good state, with minimum three (3) pages available and valid for a minimum of three months.
- Two (2) photocopies of the pages of the passport that have been used or contain any information.
- Two (2) ORIGINAL Forms properly filled and signed and one photocopy.
- Three (3) recent front color photos with light background. Measurements from top to bottom: 1.5"x1.5".
- Two notarized photocopies of the letter that certified that the minor to be adopted has been assigned to the family requesting the visa. This letter must be from the "Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar " (ICBF) or the adoption home that is responsible for the minor.
- When the adoption process is not with the ICBF, you need to present two photocopies of a document that credits the Legal Function and position of agent of the house of Colombian adoption.
- Letter that request the visa to The Colombia Consul in San Francisco. This letter must include: Full name of both parents, ID Numbers, The reason you are requesting the visa, Information of the institution and place where the minor is located. This letter must be presented in original with one copy.
- Two photocopies of the round-trip airline tickets.
